The University of Virginia Department of Music is pleased to present the String and Piano Chamber Music Recital on Saturday, November 16th at 3:30 pm in Old Cabell Hall.  Small student groups will be performing works by Works by Haydn, Brahms, Smetana, and more.

For the String and Piano Chamber Music Recital, many talented young musicians come together perform numerous works that they have perfected over the course of the semester, under the direction of faculty musicians. These groups were coached by Ayn Balija, Adam Carter, David Sariti & Daniel Sender.  Chamber music ensembles give students an opportunity to experience major works outside of the archetypal large orchestra setting, allowing students to hone their knowledge of what they contribute to their ensembles' performances. Students greatly improve their individual performance skills in a manner that is completely unique to working in these smaller and focused chamber music ensembles.
