The UVA Music Department presents a distinguished major voice recital by Joshua Eiger on Sunday April 24th at 8:00pm in Old Cabell Hall on the historic grounds of the University of Virginia.
Joshua Eiger is a fourth-year student at the University of Virginia double majoring in Music and Public Policy at the Batten School. Joshua has had vocal instruction since the Summer before his first year of high school and is currently studying classical voice and musical theatre in the studio of Pamela Beasley at UVA. In the Virginia NATS Singing Competition, Joshua placed first in musical theater in 2020 and received honors in the classical category. At the direction of Dr. Mirabella Yang from George Mason University, Joshua was in a production of Die Zauberflote. Joshua has participated in masterclasses with Robert Ainsley, the Director of the Washington National Opera, Javier Arrey, and Kyle Pfortmiller, who have both played roles in the New York Metropolitan Opera and Washington National Opera. In February 2020, Joshua performed at the Kennedy REACH Center for the Arts singing a solo of Funiculi Funicula.
This recital is supported by the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund. Established in 2004 by the generosity of Mr. Alan Y. Roberts ('64) and Mrs. Sally G. Roberts, the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund underwrites the private lessons and recital costs for undergraduate music majors giving a recital in their fourth year as part of a distinguished major program in music.
