Making Noise in the Library series presents Jason Evans Groth & Pete Schreiner on Friday, September 20th from 1-2 pm in the Music Library in Old Cabell Hall on the historic lawn. Refreshments will be served.
The Making Noise in the Library series brings artists into the Music Library for free performances. The 2024-25 season is supported by a grant from the UVA Arts Council, and will celebrate the re-opening of Shannon Library by highlighting the art and artists associated with UVA Library.
Jason Evans Groth and Pete Schreiner have been playing music and touring extensively together since 2001 in Magnolia Electric Co., Songs: Ohia, and The Coke Dares, and have individually played music with Thousand Arrows, The Impossible Shapes, The Panoply Academy, The Sands, Scout Niblett, Jens Lekman, the Cinnamon Girls, and an array of others. They'll play a stripped down mix of songs from their various bands and long careers, including unreleased songs and songs you may have heard if you've ever encountered them on a stage or record before.
Jason and Pete are both librarians. Jason is the new Electronic Technologies Librarian at UVA, and Pete and Jason previously worked together in the Learning Spaces and Services Department at NC State University Libraries.
