Isabella Tucker

Isabella Tucker will perform her Distinguished Major Recital on Saturday, April 3 at 8:00pm livestreamed from Old Cabell Hall.  Her recital program will feature Rachmaninoff’s Sonata in G minor for Cello and Piano, Op. 19, Beethoven's Sonata for Piano and Cello in A major, op. 69, and Bach's Third Unaccompanied Cello Suite in C Major.  This event is free and will be live-streamed.  The link to the live feed and a PDF of the program will be available on this page on the day of the event.

Isabella is pursuing a double major in Biology and Music with a Performance Concentration. In addition to performing with the Charlottesville Symphony, she participates in the UVA Jazz Ensemble. Isabella has greatly enjoyed all of the music classes she has taken at UVA, particularly Studies in 17th and 18th Century Music with Richard Will and Orchestration with Ben Rous. Her favorite memory at UVA is when she played the Pines of Rome with the Charlottesville Symphony on her 20th birthday.

When she's not playing music, Isabella can be found researching models of epilepsy at the Medical Center or serving as an Emergency Medical Technician at the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad in Crozet. She also works part-time in the UVA COVID-19 Testing Lab. In her free time, Isabella enjoys running, cooking (only sometimes successfully), and hanging out with friends.

After graduation, Isabella plans on moving to Seattle and hopes to attend medical school. She is currently on the job hunt for positions at the University of Washington Medical Center or the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.

This recital is supported by the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund. Established in 2004 by the generosity of Mr. Alan Y. Roberts ('64) and Mrs. Sally G. Roberts, the Charles S. Roberts Scholarship Fund underwrites the private lessons and recital costs for undergraduate music majors giving a recital in their fourth year as part of a distinguished major program in music.
