On Friday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 12 at 3:30 p.m. area audiences will have two opportunities to hear The Oratorio Society of Virginia with guest soloists and 44-member orchestra under the baton of Michael Slon. This production culminates The Society’s 56th season and will feature an all-Beethoven program to celebrate the 200th anniversary--almost to the day on May 7, 1824--of the premiere of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony as well as revive the 2020 spring program that was canceled due to the pandemic shutdown. The program will include the final choral movement of the 9th as well as Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, an overture, and Meeresstille und Glückliche Fahrt.".
Friday evening’s performance will be at Grisham Hall, St. Anne’s-Belfield School’s dynamic performing arts auditorium. On Sunday afternoon The Oratorio Society will reprise the concert at Old Cabell Hall at UVA. Join us to experience this inspiring and transforming music.

The performance features several guest artists including soprano Christina Pier Cronin, tenor Jamison Lee Walker, bass Weston Hurt, and pianist Peter Henderson. The concert will be led by Oratorio Society Music Director, and Director of UVA Choral Music, Michael Slon.
